Laughed all the way through this play, and yet, it's touching. It's a believable conversation between young adult and mid-adult life, both in their way going through a rite of passage, it honors the wisdom both ages have while poking great fun at each age's blind spots.

A wonderfully funny and clever little play which rings all the changes on the meanings of choice, courage, and progress within the context of Reform Judaism. Consider how less adroitly ironic the play would have been if Rabbi Silverman had been male, or from a different branch of Judaism like Conservative or Orthodox (where a female Rabbi would not be allowed). And directors should not miss the opportunities for using props like those twirling pens or the ring tone from Beethoven's Fifth or the thunder or the light at the end.

This lovely, funny, engaging play pulled a riveted audience right along at a presentation at the 2019 Samuel French Festival. Heinze's delightful dialogue crackles with energy, in this comedy with tremendous contemporary meaning. JASON is a dream role for any young actor. A touching, fun, approachable play. Check it out!

An absolutely wonderful intergenerational comedy. Heinze has crafted a piece that is biblical in both scope and content, while keeping the two characters at the center of the story as down-to-earth as possible. Self-assured writing at its finest.

Comedy gold. Philip Roth, if he were alive, would love the humor in this. Consider this if you're producing a festival on Jewish/faith issues or any comedy showcase.

I love the stakes of this play. It's witty and fun, Heinze takes care with both of his characters and gives real agency to the youth in the play, which I particularly enjoyed. Well done!
