A meditative and deeply lovely exploration of gender, faith, and climate change. Fly effortlessly weaves their themes with gorgeous, abstract speeches and an exciting structure. I would love to see a full production of this.

This may be my favorite play that I’ve read all year, and I’ve read a LOT. Fly gives us a deeply personal dive into the shifts and changes that occur when one begins to discover their true gender identity, as well as all of the challenges that come with it. Set against a melting tundra littered with dead whales, the fantastical and abstract action gives us some distance in order to safely explore the traumas of dysphoria for non-binary people. This play taught me how to write in my own language. Can not recommend highly enough.

A beautiful play exploring climate change, gender, and how people build (and break) a family together when they're all that's available. The dialogue is strong and structurally this piece is everything I look for in a play - surprising, nonlinear, and expresses the internal as much as the literal. I highly recommend reading and I'd love to see it one day. Made my (hesitantly titled) New Queer Theatre list on NPX's front page.
