Oh man, this was an amazing 10 minute play from Arianna Rose. Perfectly anthropomorphizing the various media we listen to our music on, she crafted an interesting tale of obsolescence and comeback. I LOVED the various ways she captured each "character" flaw, from skipping, to changing tracks (ah, 8-Tracks) to speed ups and slowdowns. My personal favorite was the MP3 attempting to attach to the others because it thought they were emails. Absolutely brilliant!

THE BEAT GOES ON is a fun trip down memory lane that audiences of all ages will enjoy. Arianna Rose has created wonderfully unique characters that encapsulate the personalities of an LP vinyl record, cassette tape, 8-track tape, CD and Mp3. Actors will have a great time bringing these music containment devices to life!

Wonderfully funny, skillful and utterly convincing short play with physical comedy and music-related objects--LP, Cassette, 8-track, DC and Mp3--as characters. This would be so fun to perform and to watch!

What a fun and wacky ride with outmoded music storage systems. You can really get your physical humor on with this zany and imaginative piece. It is a great time for actors and audiences alike.

The promise of the clever, enviable setup of this play is fulfilled with nonstop zaniness. It had me from word one, but when the 8-Track says “I didn’t get out much,” I was all in, ready to let Arianna Rose take me anywhere in this kooky slice of nostalgia.

This ten minute physical comedy piece is "made to be played" just like the various musical reproduction technologies embodied were. Very imaginative, original and thought provoking, too - and all at the speed of sound!

I just did a fast sprint down musical memory lane! When a group of obsolete music mediums are relegated to the antiquity showcase at The Smithsonian, we get to have a listen to some fun banter and one-ups-man-ship. THE BEAT GOES ON is a clever piece of writing with lots of room for physical comedy. Would love to see this go up at a shorts festival!

THE BEAT GOES ON is an absolutely delightful 10-minute play. In the style of Toy Story or Brave Little Toaster, Arianna Rose has brought different types of music media to life. In a display case at the Smithsonian they anxiously wait to see who is left in the obsolete case and who is in the current music case. Full of witty banter and fun references to the frustrations of each medium, like winding up a cassette, this is a great play for comic actors!

A very entertaining and imaginative tale of music media wondering about their place in history. A fun romp of a play that any festival would be proud to stage.

Music moves us, but what medium does it best? Anthropomorphic characters banished to a museum exhibit, banter about the good old days and speculate about a return to glory. Arianna Rose creates fun and fond memories for anyone who’s ever nudged a skipping record, waited through an awkward 8-Track pause, performed surgery on a cassette with a pencil, or shared music via CD or flash drive. The Beat Goes On is a hit - no matter how you like to serve up your songs.
