Birthday by Jeff Bouthiette

Ellen and Delia have gone through the long and arduous process of becoming adoptive parents with surprisingly little turmoil. But when the call comes that a baby is available for them to take home, Ellen's reaction throws their entire relationship into question.

    “ BIRTHDAY is a sweet short that touches on huge issues like adoption and race with a deft and light hand. Bouthiette uses humor, honesty, and love to ask huge and uncomfortable questions. The last line is perfect, because obviously yes, everyone does/should love Beyonce. Really all around well written and enjoyable. ”
