Roll over Kushner, and tell Junot Diaz the news.

I saw the production of this play at 59E59, and I loved it. This play is a fantastic subversion of expectations, genres, storytelling traditions, and theatre norms. Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time the entire time. Please read and consider this play; it deserves to be seen in your community!

A hilarious, imaginative, wild ride filled with gorgeous poetry and TONS of heart. The love in this script radiates outward and touches every person in the audience. It illuminates the healing power of love and how queer love is, IMHO, the best kind. It's raucously funny and packed with a sharp wit. Produce this again and again!

I saw I Wanna Fuck Like Romeo and Juliet at 59E59 and LOVED it. The mashup of genres was absolutely perfect, and I really appreciated that the play honors the experiences of survivors AND is full of love, humor, and cleverness. Read this play, produce this play, commission this playwright!

I absolutely love this play! It's so refreshing for BIPOC/Queer people to get such a beautiful love story that's not white centered or drenched in trauma. It's funny and creative and visually stunning on the page. I need to see a full production of this immediately.

Come on, girls -- do you believe in love? Because Andrew Rincón has got something to say about it, and it goes something like this. A poet (the stage directions) tells a story of love between two (or three) shepherded by a god of love and a Catholic saint.

It’s a story of the ending of relationships, and also the beginnings, from Heaven to Hackensack. And even if Kanye and Kim have broken up since this script was written (sorry, Valentine) it remains a touching, hopeful and hilarious examination of love and why it matters. Highly recommended!

Incredibly theatrical, relentlessly sharp, often hilarious and just as often heartbreaking, Andrew Rincon’s magical romantic comedy is a wonder. Oh, how I’d love to see this staged; a gifted director could kick this already high-flying work into the heavens and keep it there, where it belongs. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

What a great title! And this script delivers so much beyond that too. I love the layers as we watch the two lovers in NJ and the two Gods being epic and then there is Betti, the sweetest icing on the cake. Love and realness - well done.
