Lots of great visuals in this intimate play about life, death and family. The elements working together in the dream scene is divine.

This is such a tender, understated end-of-life play full of rough-edged characters and moments of magic. Violette’s ability to make us feel like we’ve known these flawed, desperate characters their whole lives in just a few pages is so impressive. I can imagine this show really connecting with audience members—especially that final moment—taking them on a ride from laughter to tears and everything in between. A poignant, delightful read—highly recommended!

What do you do when there’s a timer ticking down to the end of life as you know it? Caity-Shea Violette answers this question by putting a mirror up to the fears and dreams that motivate us when our time is reaching its end. With four strong roles for women and a powerful family dynamic, REAP THE GROVE is a tearjerker and a delight. #PlaywrightPlug

This play is the epitome of an emotional roller coaster. I found myself laughing and empathizing with other characters so much that I kept almost forgetting the reason they were all assembled. I think this nails a lot of the feelings one has from growing up in a toxic environment and trying to make peace with that.

I saw this play performed as a staged reading. It was a well-crafted piece that begs to be performed. It was at some points sad, at some points up-lifting, and at all points an honest look into the lives of women (who were both remarkable and relate-able). It's a moving work, highlighting the unique bond of women in a family.

I can't wait to see this play staged at the Artemisia Fall Festival. Truly moving.
