Bravo on behalf of Different Strokes Performing Arts Collective who produced this piece as part of their "369 Monologue and Short Play Festival" in April 2023. It was the audience favorite of the festival. This one woman show is a powerful and at times jarring commentary on the subversive power of the media and adult opinions about the value and weight of what it means to be Black or "Black enough". It speaks to the damage those opinions and unchecked media influences wreak on our children's identities, and affect who they (we) become as adults.

WHITE-ISH is a tremendous satire with heart and surprise. Deidre Staple's writing enthralls with expert humor and an emotional core of identity. An excellent play.
