I wrote this play on my blog as a serial during the pandemic, and shared the process over 22 "episodes," though read mostly for process, as the play has gone through several revision sets since the blog series. If you're still interested, you can start with episode one here: http://blog.donnahoke.com/day-1-finding-neil-patrick-harris-or-creating-in-the-time-of-corona/ It was chosen for a reading with the Bechdel Group before it was even finished.

Comedy is alive and well when you read this play. The playwright takes an odd premise and runs with it, and by the middle you're actually hoping the characters achieve what they're trying to do. That in itself made me laugh, but I was also very amused by the characters themselves, the dialog, and the rapid complications that ensued. Fantastic, funny play!

A funny funny play - and a reflection on grief. Of how when we lose someone we see them everywhere. Everywhere. Enjoy the beautiful central friendship, the cringe worthy moments of comedy, and the unexpected ride.

Funny at a time when we all need it, this play has at it's core a friendship between two working class women that we don't see on the stage often enough. Think Lucy and Ethel in their physical comedy, their give-and-take and the way they navigate the world, often by making unintentional waves.
