One person constantly finds themselves at the mercy of the other's schedule and whims, with little consideration regarding whether or not they want to be there, even if they complain. It's bewildering to the person getting the short end, yet we stay in it.
Poynton raises this dynamic to a theatrical extreme, folding time in on itself like metaphysical origami. The play is fast, fun, compelling, and unsettling.
