Of all the productions during my Olney Theatre Center dramaturgy apprenticeship, Lauren Gunderson's tender, intimate play struck audiences on the most relevant and profound level. The dialogue is refreshing, a clever and fast-paced discovery of language between two smart (but believably so) teenagers. Audiences always stayed for talkbacks, revealing the various, layered ways that the story inspired them. Lauren is also a pure delight to have in the room.
