What a refreshingly breezy read! Fun and confident, light-hearted and spacious and featuring something we don't see enough of: Excellent roles for teen girls! It is not surprising that this delightful play is among the most-recommended short plays on NPX. It would be such fun to produce, and is engaging, and appropriate, for younger performers. Perfect for a short play festival, or a drama class showcase.

The combination of the somewhat absurd scenario and the strong, realistically portrayed sisterly relationship makes this play hilarious and oddly moving! Also a great idea for school festivals.

Code-switching, cat-saving, and bologna on a fishing pole - this play has it all. It's light and fun, has good roles for Latina women, and leaves the audience/reader wanting more.

Absolutely adorable--and absolutely poignant. There is so much character and story leaping from these tight ten pages. The sisters are completely believable and sweet and the story is a charming anecdote that is likely to leave audiences beaming, chuckling, and shaking their heads. Wonderful roles for young Latina actresses and a beautifully executed little piece. A great example of a ten minute play well done.

I loved every minute of reading this play! McBurnette-Andronicos captures the craze of childhood, and how much putting kids together to their own devices can make that craze that much crazier. I love the dynamics between the three sisters, and how well that was made clear, I am one of three girls and the specifics were spot on. Great short play.

This is just pure delight from start to finish. It’s at all times quirky and unexpected as we watch three sisters try to help their cat - wishing Putsy had at least eaten the evidence after “the kill.” A parrot who can recite novenas, a how-to primer on catching a cat with bologna on a stick plus three terrific roles for young Latina actresses awaits you. Read it, produce it, buy a ticket to it.

Just the concept behind McBurnette-Andronicos’ 10-minute “miracle play” is perfect enough, (a dead parrot, a seemingly guilty cat on the lam, and three sisters attempting to undo the carnage.) But she packs the story with four hilarious and memorable characters and high theatricality, making it a genuine gift for young Latina performers. I was smiling during the whole read!

Totally hilarious and sweet -- a terrific idea with fun characters that make ridiculous, theatrical choices. I love these three sisters (catching a cat with bologna on a fishing pole, I mean come on -- it doesn't get better than that), and I love Dona Cuca, too. A perfect fit for a short play festival. Four great roles for Latina actresses.

I saw a reading of this play as part of the Midwest Dramatists Conference. Hilarious, outrageous, and delightful from start to finish, with strong dialogue and meaty roles for the actresses. I was enchanted from start to finish.
