This is a great play to read during the holiday season. The dynamics between the family members are very entertaining to watch as time goes on.

I really like this concept of seeing different time periods that show different stages of life. I also love how you are able to see how time has affected this family's culture and how they have overcome obstacles.

I recently read a ton of holiday scripts, and this was one of my absolute favorites. Beautiful and mournful. About an Italian Catholic family going through several generations at Christmas. Explores death, birth, marriage, love, etc, all in the span of 30 minutes. Has some humor and wonderful staging opportunities. This is a really terrific piece and deserves a lot of productions!

I am such a sucker for plays that are able to successfully travel their audience through time. It reminded me so much of Paula Vogel's play "The Long Christmas Ride Home" in all the best ways. Minigan is somehow able to make the time shifts poignant, yet seamless. Minigan's use of language is also something to be awed at, specifically Carlo. He begins the play as a six year old and ends the play at the ripe young age of 70 his speech transforming with him through every time shift. What an excellent play worthy of many productions!

A wonderful play about family and the intergenerational experience of trying to achieve the ultimate American dream when you've sacrificed so much for it. A story of tradition, expectation and, ultimately, love and connection. Belissima!

Through the passage of time, we witness the changes of one family's cultural and generational journey through the annual Christmas car ride. I particularly enjoyed the quick time shifts, brilliantly executed! A lovely holiday one-act!

I'm not Italian, but come from a large extended family--and from a town near Weston, where the family in this play ends up. So already I have a connection.
The play manages the multiple generations, and the time shifts, beautifully. A perfect holiday play. And a lovely family play.

Minigan tells a story that showcases what theatre does best. The dialogue and setting are spare, but the audience infers the patterns and ironies of the family's journey. It's also wildly theatrical, and Minigan uses its theatricality as a storytelling device -- something as simple as an actor walking to a clothing rack has emotional impact. Supremely well written.
