Once you start reading this play, it’s impossible to stop. The title here is apt: the accusations, power dynamics, and conflicting stories swirl at a frenetic pace, revealing how cases of sexual assault can obfuscate and revictimize women. An anguishing and complex play that wisely refrains from offering easy answers.

I don't often get shocked much anymore, but the end moments of Whirlpool had me sitting with my hand over my mouth. I won't spoil that ending, yet I have to commend Ross Tedford Kendall for throwing such heavy suspense, action, and emotion into such a short time. Maybe it's because the play proper before sets up wonderfully full characters snapping through a quick paced, heavy-hitter of a show. There aren't comfortable lies offered up in this show. Being sexually assaulted and then questioning if you were, it's hell. Kendall opens up that pit and shows us the pain underneath.

Ross Tedford Kendall’s full-length Play “Whirlpool,” Is a great vehicle for actors. It’s intense, riveting, suspenseful and extremely well-written. Fast paced, with lots of twists and turns, it explores some complex subjects such as misuse of power, sexual consent, and boundary issues. Bravo!
