Innovative and surefooted, built on a confident awareness that the most momentous drama in our lives often expresses itself through the most unassuming and mundane moments.

Fantastic show that really nails the spirit and tragedy of adolescence. Hilarious at moments and haunting at others; this show has the perfect blend. Super honest with its subject matter. There's a reason this play is produced so often.

I just saw the production at Salt Lake Acting Company... What an amazing, gripping, hilarious, touching, crushing play. The characters felt like my friends, they were so real and imperfect, the pacing is a feat in itself, as is the overlapping dialogue and layered story lines. The element I was most impressed by though was the trust that DeLappe showed for the audience, this was a huge and heavy story and she didn't hold back or hold our hands through any of it. If you can catch this in production do. It is phenomenal, storytelling at its best.

I saw this play a few months back and couldn't stop raving about the dialogue and how DeLappe captured teens perfectly. So many playwrights miss the mark when trying to write characters at that age but this was a brilliant leap into the complex world of adolescent young women. Also, kudos for depictions of women in sports!!

I laughed aloud at many parts of this play and also felt the pain of these tough-yet-fragile young ladies. Great work.

Best play I've read this year, hands down.

THE WOLVES is a devastatingly insightful display of female drive and determination, which also poses a strong question for those charged with raising tomorrow's women; How far do we push children and young adults in the pursuit of excellence, achievement, love, and acceptance? A brilliantly urgent new work.

  • Eric Norton: The Wolves

An honest and insightful look into the world of a resilient teenage women's soccer team. Its easy to look at the problems of a teenage life in a stereotypical manner, this play does not. Highly HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for programming for teenagers.

I don't know if I've ever seen or read a play that more perfectly captures the delicate balance of priorities during adolescence. Anyone who ever has ever been a part of organized sports as a child or teen will feel a connection to this play.

Had the honor to be in a staged reading of this in the spring of 2016 at the University of Puget Sound. DeLappe's "The Wolves" is Mean Girls by way of David Mamet. The ensemble is well-defined and three dimensional, the dialogue is punchy and hilarious, and it all culminates in a surprisingly emotional ending. The voices of teenagers can be hard to portray without cliche, but DeLappe steers clear of that trap and delivers 10 believable high school girls, which makes the play all the more impactful by its end.
