What a masterfully drawn portrait of what happens to a Cassandra after she's run out of adults to warn about the danger they've caused & has to pitch her message straight to the children they've endangered.

This is one of my favourite plays. What locks me into it is not just the pitch-perfect black comedy of Miss Katelyn's amazing/horrifying teaching techniques, but that Elena writes her with such empathy that your heart breaks for her even as your fear about her reaches a fever pitch. This is a smart, scary and beautiful gut-punch of a play.

Reading this pitch black comedy was an absolute delight while also making me look hard at a huge question we face today. How do we keep children safe in a terrible world while also guarding their innocence? This play needs to be produced for the discussions that will ensue.

This is by far the most powerful piece in awhile. Bravo to Elena for tackling a giant wrong in our society and churning out a script that captures all of the anxiety, sadness, and fear we experience whenever a mass shooting happens. It's a collage of emotions and should definitely be produced, published, etc. for everyone to have access to and discuss.

Gut wrenching, disturbing, hilarious, unsettling ride into the neuroses and fear of an elementary school teacher holding on for dear life. Watching this play I was overwhelmed with waves of laughter, nausea, and deep beautiful sadness. An incredible and unfortunately increasingly relevant play.
