Utilizing Greek Mythology in plays can be so exciting to witness. The fourth wall is broken masterfully throughout your writing! I was never once bored when reading this piece because of how outside-the-box its concept could be when staged.

This script shifts with ease. I enjoyed the line about Persephone being a goddess and Jill being a nursery-rhyme character, it's packed with so much this play is about - fate, disappointment, motherhood, relationships. Great!

JENNIFER O’GRADY’s play is magnificent! The circle of life is so much a part of this moving play. A man tragically loses his wife; his young son loses his mother. Each needs to cope. In this play, “Persephone” - the name of the deceased - finds a way to help from the after-world. I love this play and want to see it performed on stage.

SUCH a beautiful play that is emotionally resonant and theatrical. The final moments are stunning.

This play feels so much bigger than its short length. The themes of loss and renewal, the fully rounded characters--each with their own arcs--the mythic layer, all are packed into a piece that takes us on an emotionally rich and rewarding journey in a short span of time. What O'Grady is able to achieve here is simply astonishing.

This is a beautifully poignant play about how our relationships transcend death and the need for the living to go on. O'Grady has created such well-rounded, authentic characters within a world of the supernatural, all within 10 pages. Highly recommended!

What a lovely play, with real presence of mind, clarity and heart from beginning to end. It's always interesting to see a new perspective on an old tale about death and the afterlife, in a way that sheds new light on the topic and appeals to a modern audience. I'm not at surprised at all by the attention it's receiving, and I look forward to seeing more of her work.

An absolute stunner of a play about love, loss, and the everlife. What Jennifer O'Grady accomplishes in ten minutes is remarkable. I didn't want the play to end. PERSEPHONE has had several productions and been published and I can see why! While Persephone may never have wanted to be named after a goddess, her actions are nothing short of god-like, no small feat for a professed atheist. Read it, weep, laugh, you'll be a changed human being and the better for having read this jewel of a play.

Most ten minute plays don't deliver full characterizations, or layers, or complexity, or even proper "big" themes very well - but this one does all four brilliantly, proving just what can be done in such a short piece. If it's "moments" that push and propel our feelings in theatre, they have to be well chosen. They are here, and they lead us on a dramatic, moving and satisfying journey.
