This play hits unbelievably close to home, and I love that it doesn't flinch. Beautiful commentary on feeling small in big arenas, and on how far good intentions and artistic motivation will take you.

FUNNY. Yes, it's a little Inside Baseball, but goddamn, it's funny.

One of the best lines in it kinda/sorta speaks for the play itself. As LIZ COHEN describes: "I was sweating. I was crying. I was probably also like peeing myself. Maybe also coming... It was just like all bodily fluids, you know? At once. Now that is f@cking theater"

Despite my resemblance to his mother, I have no connection whatsoever to Mr. Schatz and hope this play finds the audience it so richly deserves. Please someone, do this play!

So good. Full of lacerating wit. A great take-down of our industry but its lessons can certainly be applied more widely. A Matt Schatz gem.

Laugh-out-loud funny play with music that's sure to be a favorite among anyone who's worked in theatre or who's a tad pissed off about celebrities garnering favoritism in the theatre world.

I love this. It's so much fun and so well written. It's insider hilarious. This is the play I needed in my life right now.

This play made me laugh so hard I was in tears, it's a brilliant, satirical, biting comment on the theatre industry, done with so much heart and soul, I loved it so much and can't wait to see it produced hopefully sometime soon.

The play rose through a competitive, anonymous, multileveled selection process that took nearly nine months to execute. As one of 55 finalists out of more than 1,300 submissions, the strength of its writing has allowed this work to prosper in such a competitive selection process. Our readers were struck by how the play’s satire of new play development serves as a larger metaphor for celebrity worship.
