My high school Drama Club students performed this for SUNY Oswego's Drama Festival and won "Outstanding Scene" for the day of performances. The adjudicator was impressed with the level of character development achieved. Everyone loved it! The students had a great time preparing these funny and in-depth characters. The audience laughed out loud along with some audible "awwws" in the sweet, more sentimental moments. Since it is only ten minutes, there is no time for any fluff. Every line serves a purpose to move along the plot or to help develop the realistic characters.

Absolutely delightful and hilarious. I love Hayet's writing--it's so bright and funny and charming. This play shines from the beginning with fast-flying dialogue, and ends just masterfully. One of the best ten minute comedies I've read--and the big, beautiful heart at the center of it is purely undeniable.

The fight for Santa's job. Or the closest thing to it. Splendidly charming and hilarious. Wonderful!

Sam had me from her description of buying off the secretaries through her ultimate and unexpected triumph. This delightful (and occasionally surprisingly moving) workplace vignette pulls off the neat trick of providing credible and satisfying happy endings for all three characters. Holiday cheer without a trace of saccharine!

What a fun and hilarious workplace short with lots of twists and turns! Each character feels fully developed within such a brief amount of time, and the dialog is snappy and smart. Can’t wait to see this produced in March!

There's a lot of ambition overload in this job interview. There's also a ton of heart to counter the cold, corporate part of any job. Hayet finds a delicate balance between work-reality and work-love and "I want your job" syndrome. It keeps you guessing from start to finish. What's remarkable, is you root for all the characters. A delightful holiday comedy with the bonus of the unexpected all through it.

Funny and adorable. I found myself rooting for all the characters even though I was 99% sure that not all of them were going to get through this hiring/firing exercise with jobs.

One of my favorite job interview plays I've read. Plenty of surprises make for a hilarious read. Never a dull moment! Sam's determination to get the job at the toy company and tackling the worst of challenges, firing someone, will keep you invested from beginning to end. Ron's mini monologues will steal your heart and also make you bust a gut. Consider choosing this play for your Christmas showcase. Are you a Lieutenant Liberty or a Party Pony? Read this play and find out.
