Franky Gonzalez isn't afraid to throw punches, and he does so brilliantly in just one page. There's a lot to unpack from blatant hypocrisy to human empathy. A good piece to include for a night of short plays!

I am in awe of playwrights who can pack so much into 1 to 3 minutes. Thank you Franky for making every one of the 199 words count. Made me think and made me smile especially when I think of the Latino woman's inner voice and how she was able to control it.

Oh these white Christians. Who will save all of us who know better about the bill of goods religion offers and the awful price that is is paid by anyone who falls for their teachings or ideas. Gonzalez nails all that is wrong with the white Christian belief system where they think that their god is a white one who has OK'd them to think everyone not white is a piece of crap and not fit for anything except deportation, or to be shot or not clothed or fed or sheltered or killed without real remorse as God will forgive.

A gut-punch of a short that hones directly in on the hypocrisy of NIMBY do-gooders who cannot see the consequences of their actions, or that barely helpful acts of selfish charity does not cancel out their fundamentally unChristian attitudes. Great work.

As someone who grew up in the evangelical church, this one hit home.

I want to write a lot in this recommendation. I want to express boundless feelings for this peace. I want to share the complexity, subtext, everything that's going on. But in the end, I keep coming back to just one word. "Wow."

Franky Gonzalez takes a stiletto to evangelical Christianity in this short and (deservedly) brutal one-minute play. Helping the other is a laudable goal, but only if it's far away from our own backyard. This should be performed often.

Gonzales goes for a pass interception, connects and runs the ball all the way down the field for a touchdown! This is a brilliant, succinct gem that sums up hypocrisy in 60 seconds! MISSION TRIP needs a berth in ever one minute play festival!
