Thoroughly enjoyable! Some hysterically funny lines. A real Thanksgiving feast: a pressure cooker of obligations from ironing Gran's linen napkins to squeezing 12 "locusts" round a ...table! Great fun.

CORNUCOPIA by Rachel Carmes is a hilarious fast-fire play about two people who love one other enough to go on the offensive with brilliant banter. Built-up tension comes to the surface after a comedy of errors. Finley and Jules find themselves with a late-night furniture issue the night before a family Thanksgiving that they are hosting. Enough old grudges and disagreements are dredged back up to fill a horn of plenty. Though there may not be enough glue and time to save the rickety table, there is enough love laced through the barbs to know that their relationship is sound.

I loved the rapid-fire banter of a couple on the verge of a nervous breakdown over the Thanksgiving arrangements. The breaking of the dinner table during a rousing round of sex starts things literally with a bang and then the barbs, comments, and jibes fly at warp speed as they try to figure out what to do about it. These two obviously love each other and now Rachel Carnes gives the audience reason to love them too. Really fun stuff.

Carnes has written a play that feels like a fun holiday. Snappy banter between two people who share a cornucopia of love and family quirks to dish up.

A hilarious exchange between two lovers on Thanksgiving eve. The rapid-fire conversation is delightful and dizzying as each character fires shots that ricochet from one topic to another. Fantastic!

RACHAEL CARNES has written a wonderful holiday spoof. Her play, “Cornucopia”, has all the ingredients of the ‘fun’ of having parents and in-laws, a couple loving each other but recognizing the ‘gives-and-takes’ of a marriage, and seeing all go wrong while being so right. Confusing? No! You may recognize similarities to your marriage and family, or not. This is a fun play!

A hilarious comedy where chaos ensues before the big holiday in the most ridiculously funny and energetic way. Fantastic.

So many hilarious lines! So much telling deflection! This simply has to be a joy to watch in performance as this couple who know each other so well fight over semantics and cope with a crisis AND hash out their relationship. Carnes gives a kaleidoscopic view of the domestic that glitters brightly.

Such a fun play about the chaos that ensues the night before a major holiday. As they grapple with the dilemma at hand the two characters hilariously navigate what it is to integrate relatives into your relationship.

This play had me at the opening stage direction and throttled me with laughter the entire way through. So many great lines. A great holiday play.
