Recommendations of Love Bird

  • Claire Wilcher: Love Bird

This play is the epitome of quirky, contemporary, and refreshing. It encompasses sustainability and flexibility within its structural needs (set, cast size, etc), while providing content that is full to bursting with heart and soul. I have known this play for several years now, and it never fails to charm the pants off of me and everyone else. We fall in love with the innocence, vulnerability, and stubborn determination of both characters. At once a celebration of nature and nurture, Love Bird is simple and wistfully delightful.

  • Lila Rachel Becker: Love Bird

I saw LOVE BIRD at the University of Iowa, and I can't wait to see it again. It's a wonderful vehicle for two actors to play in, full of tenderness and humor and vulnerability. It's a rom-com, a meditation on climate change, and farce all in one. A wonderful ride!

  • Merri Biechler: Love Bird

This play made me feel full of possibilities. It's a tender, fantastical, love song of hope. The script has delicately crafted a safety net for the two actors to explore true surprise and joy. You will marvel at its intricate waltz and you will laugh. You will laugh a lot. It's a rare night in the theater where you feel so at ease to be taken on a ride of tenderness. The play delivers.

  • Jolene Mentink Moffatt: Love Bird

Magical and whimsical and FULL of possibilities in producing! A very human story of isolation, choices and consequences, longing, anxiety, self-doubt, imagination, joy, and love. The playwright has such an authentic voice and the audience laughed and sighed and oohed and awed all night. A wonderful opportunity for deep and creative character work for both actors and director.

  • Megan Ann Jacobs: Love Bird

This show is a wild ride with nothing but possibilities for those that produce it. A sweet and yet-tragically accurate depiction of two trapped in living as less authentic versions of themselves. This piece is wild, crazy, bright, funny...yet...so heartbreaking. A wild ride.
