I covered this play on my podcast, "Play-Mates: Find Your New Favorite Play!" last Friday. I absolutely ADORE it. As a disabled queer woman, this play is like a light in the dark. Gwynn reshapes the typical selkie myth into a hymn to queer and disabled femmes everywhere. A must read.

Sensuality oozes off of every page of this play. How do you write about characters that have trouble communicating with each other in a medium that depends so deeply on human connection? Gwynn has beautifully captured a series of moments between these characters that so badly want to be understood by each other but can't find the ways. I love how this inability to speak and hear can come from physical conditions like being deaf or mute or something like toxic masculinity. Gwynn has crafted a piece of theatre that will roll around in my head for a long time.

I feel so gay when I read this play! Anyone looking for an achingly beautiful love story told with rich atmosphere and tender, evocative language need look no further.
