A fun play with engaging characters, well paced to a fun conclusion! Love to see this work developed further!

As always, John's writing is funny and clever while delivering smart and surprising revelations throughout. I felt both tickled and suckerpunched by the actions of his characters, who are endearing from the get go. I appreciated the way this play calls out the voyeuristic nature of true crime shows, and I learned a lot about pyramid schemes along the way. I saw the reading at NextStop and can't wait to see where this play goes next!

Ridicuously funny and campy, but also smart and serious at the same time.
It's a dark comedy with strangulation by leggings that's also a critique of late-stage capitalism and its negatives effects on stay-at-home and working women.
This will appeal to anyone -- not just women - who are working a dead-end job meeting metrics and deadlines, those post-college disenchanted 20-30 somethings that want more out of life, who want to follow their passions.

John's work is hilarious, and builds slowly in a way that takes the audience by surprise. This play is so funny and poignant. I had the pleasure of getting to know John and his work at the 2019 LAMBDA literary conference, and John is absolutely someone you want in the room. Beautiful work, beautiful person.

Bavoso dramatizes how we lose out when our primary passion in life is our career. Felicity and Minerva push through huge obstacles to improve their lives through new jobs, but at the cost of losing a whole lot more. Bavoso has done his research: this is a finely plotted, strongly detailed script with terrific roles especially for women actors.

With scathing views of capitalism, Bavoso aims this dark comedy at MLMs, the Mormon church, urban ennui, products, sales, modern technological information exchange, and macabre fascinations, for a frighteningly fair version of the American Nightmare. Discussions of outsourcing, formative life events like private school childhood, feminist affairs, the burgeoning need and fear to create something of one's own, spousal disappointment, and much more, navigate a tale of domestic sabotage, treachery, and myth making. Variously witty, polemical, astute, the drama takes wild, progressively daring turns when two characters' desperate, hyper ambitions take personal offense. A play that keeps upping the ante.

YES, YES, HELL YES!!! This is one funny, trippy and oddly truthful ride. This is Bavoso's magnum opus and holy hell y'all should read it. Prescient, bright and notorious. Incredibly well-plotted but also funny with fantastic characters. A grand slam. Woot woot woot!!! Utah should make this their state play. I swear.
