Recommendations of The Virtuous Fall of the Girls from Our Lady of Sorrows

As president of the Northeast Pennsylvania chapter of the Gina Femia fan club I wholeheartedly recommend this play to anyone looking to produce work with complex roles for female-identifying actors. The dialogue is so honest and smart and I love how Femia balances moments of that ask existential questions with looks in the everyday lives of teenagers. This is a play that gives a big middle finger to Shakespeare while also nodding down to the dude. This needs to be seen everywhere but especially in educational settings where so many young people need to know they are not sins.

So excited about this beautiful new play! And thrilled to recommend it! An ensemble piece that has so many great roles for women and speaks to so much of our experience as girls and young women whether or not we were schooled by nuns. The prevailing attitudes and the hard choices exist in so many ways, and here Femia has dug them up and worked her magic on them toward transformation! I applaud this play so hard!

Just beautiful. A true ensemble piece about friendship, womanhood, and community in the face of obstacles and prejudice. About a group of high school-aged women, but appropriate for all audiences. Gina is the real deal, and this play is so special!

Another great story from the great Gina Femia. She brings so much texture and balance to her stories. Yes, we've got tough stuff but we also have joy and fun, new love and friendship. Highly recommend.

A dynamic high school play with a bad ass all female cast. Gina keeps putting work out there that explores love and queerness in a society that doesn’t know what to do with either, work that demand your attention. Produce.this. Play!
