Recommendations of Confirmation Bias

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: Confirmation Bias

I really appreciate Malakhow's fictional riff on this historic and lesser known study. I didn't know much about Hooker's study and was engrossed in this unexpected encounter and pleasantly surprised by where this wonderful writer guided us through his storytelling. I love this piece and Malakhow's writing. Outstanding work.

  • Ryan Kaminski: Confirmation Bias

Informative, intriguing, full of humor, and wonderfully gripping. This is a powerful short play regarding a historical event most audiences are not familiar with. The characters are well written and developed and the dialogue and premise keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Well done!

I really enjoyed this. Two characters bringing in all sorts of emotion and history in a short play. Highly recommend.

  • David Lipschutz: Confirmation Bias

"Confirmation Bias" is a deeply moving and thought-provoking piece of historical fiction that packs a great deal into just ten pages. Was a pleasure to read.

  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: Confirmation Bias

I found myself deeply enthralled with this short play. Malakhow manages to intertwine so many vibrant and fine-tuned emotions into Confirmation Bias. The two characters feel so real in an extremely intimate way - I wanted to keep learning more about them, their lives, and the study they are participating in. The dynamic between the two is handled so expertly and with precision! Please, add this wonderful piece of theatre to your must-read list.

  • Chandler Hubbard: Confirmation Bias

Short and sweet and to the point, but with an earnest honesty and a clear-eyed humor beneath an August sun. Would love to see a full-length version!

  • Jesse Hartley: Confirmation Bias

This play explores and examines the historical nature of being queer in a society that rarely accepts this. In comparison with today's society, this play highlights how we've come along way but still have so long to go.

  • DC Cathro: Confirmation Bias

A powerful piece. Malakhow captures the terror and paranoia of hiding their sexuality that so many men experienced back then, and many still experience to this day. I was also unfamiliar with this particular piece of Gay History, so it was fascinating to learn about it through this fictional work. Snappy dialogue and strongly realized characters serve the play well. Excellent.

  • Jack Levine: Confirmation Bias

NICK MALAKHOW’s play, “Confirmation Bias”, was enlightening. I grew up in the 1950’s and there was open prejudice against gays. I was told that gays were deviates and ‘lesser-people’. My true change in how I saw gays came when I found out my sister in-law was gay. I was in my late 30’s. I cannot possibly fully understand what horrors gays have or do experience. I can at least say I am proud to have ‘seen the light’ to the extent I can. This is a wonderful play of an important event.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Confirmation Bias

Such a rich piece for such a short amount of stage time. I admire the way the historical facts are included in this play without weighing it down. Both characters are fascinating and I'd love to see more of this entire story!
