Recommendations of The Resurrectionists

  • Jennifer Ramsey: The Resurrectionists

A rich and hilarious dark comedy. In just a few short pages, LeBlanc has crafted a pair of intensely memorable characters that the audience can’t help but love…despite their somewhat questionable definition of morality.

How I love a good dark comedy! Which, by the way, is not easy to pull off. Mr. LeBlanc's talent is in top form with this short work. Terrific dialogue and a good punchline at the end. Nicely done!

  • Morey Norkin: The Resurrectionists

If you think about it, you can probably come up with a unique justification for any morally dubious behavior. And this pair of grave robbers have come up with a doozy! Robert LeBlanc has given us a wonderful comic duo that I would want to see played by Laurel and Hardy, if they could be resurrected. The introduction of the Watchman provides the perfect finish.

  • Michele Clarke: The Resurrectionists

I did not have "the moral equivalence of grave robbing and murder" on my NPX bingo card! This is a thoroughly delightful romp through the perils of 1828 London. And yes, please, let's see this with two women!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: The Resurrectionists

I love the moral gymnastics Burns and Crump go through to justify their get rich quick scheme. This dark comedy is a lot of fun and ends perfectly.

  • Ian Donley: The Resurrectionists

"The Resurrectionists" is so funny! The contemporary notion of twisting Biblical philosophies for personal gain in this historical fiction scenario is the kind of play I think would do well with many different audiences.

  • Tom Erb: The Resurrectionists

"The Resurrectionists" is a compelling play set in 1828 London, vividly bringing to life the macabre world of gravediggers Burns and Crump. Through their morally ambiguous quest for bodies, the play delves into themes of ethics and the value of life. The characters' dynamic and the looming presence of the Watchman create a tense narrative that culminates in a gripping cliffhanger. This piece is a thought-provoking exploration of societal norms and the lengths people go to challenge them.

  • Christopher Soucy: The Resurrectionists

Morally speaking, there’s not a thing wrong with Burns and Crump’s plans. So long as you don’t pay too much attention. LeBlanc has created a comic duo that rivals the great vaudevillians of old. This is a fun short play that would be at home in an evening of dark comedy.

  • Daniel Prillaman: The Resurrectionists

Hilarious. I’m hard-pressed to think of something more fun. LeBlanc has crafted a duo that feels simultaneously plucked from Shakespeare and Python in equal measure. This is top-tier banter. Their logic, actually, is irrefutable, and this is a piece that would…*ahem* kill at any short festival, no matter its focus.

  • Paul Donnelly: The Resurrectionists

What a dark and richly comic look at two soon to be reformed resurrectionists. The dialogue is a riot and the characters are as thoroughly entertaining as they are thoroughly reprehensible. It's fun to see their alternate plan begin to come to fruition at the end.
