Now, this is my kind of play! A darkly comic period piece, featuring monstrous characters and murky morality! Fantastic script!

This play is full of such great characters! And the banter within the graveyard is just chillingly hilarious. Lots of room to play with this piece and really give it the atmosphere it deserves!

I was lucky enough to see a virtual reading of this hilarious play - even in the reading format, the hysterical dialogue was the star... and yet I couldn't help but imagine all of the creative possibilities for staging and physical comedy! This dynamic duo (plus the watchman) would be a treat for two comedic players with a knack for timing. At the same time, the play provides food for thought when it comes to questions of morality: could murder ever be... good?! The clever reversal at the end will have audiences laughing until they're post-deceased! Clever fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Resurrectionists

I'm always intrigued to see how a great American playwright takes on such an English subject and it's characters. This did not let me down, here the author presents two Cockley ner-do-wells, a dodgy night watchman and plenty of hilarious dark humour in his short play. Great fun!

  • Nora Louise Syran: The Resurrectionists

Though set in the early 19th century, the twisted logic and dark humor of Mister Crump and Mister Burns reminded me somewhat of Hamlet's gravediggers but they're iconic fellows all on their own. A good read.

  • Joe Swenson: The Resurrectionists

The brilliance of this short play is in the dialogue that Bob creates through the characters rationalization of their soon-to-be change in occupation. The development of the two main characters is incredible in such a short piece and you find yourself rooting for them despite what their next actions are going to be. I've read this play a few times and each time I find new places to laugh and cringe. Excellent work!

  • DC Cathro: The Resurrectionists

Darkly funny and full of laugh-out-loud banter, “The Resurrectionists” feels like the love child of Dickens and Abbott & Costello. The characters are delightfully twisted and although you might see where the play is going, the journey is still a fun ride. Excellent!

I love the plot behind this play. It is very done with a sense of humor incorporated into it. Love the dialogue.

A quirky, witty short comedy with characters that are just lovable enough to like and just dark enough to raise an eyebrow. Well done!

  • Maximillian Gill: The Resurrectionists

A deliciously wicked and funny little chiller in the spirit of an Edgar Allan Poe yarn. The characters work out some novel justifications for committing heinous deeds, and we can't help but be both aghast and somewhat impressed. I would love to see this one staged with appropriately broad cockney accents to enhance the already hilarious dialogue.
