Recommendations of Adam's Angels

  • Ken Love: Adam's Angels

Comedy is fun (or "hard"?). Satire is even better. Especially when it's done skillfully. And with brevity. Which is its soul. Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn's "Adam's Angels" is satisfying in every way. And the fact that she was able to pull it off speaks volumes to her talent. A great read which I'm sure will be served better in performance.

  • Rich Helms: Adam's Angels

ADAM'S ANGELS is an entertaining piece of farce, rewriting the creation of man. I loved the use of Genesis story elements in a completely novel way. I laughed out loud.

  • Mike Byham: Adam's Angels

ADAM'S ANGELS is a funny, delightful tale of the origin of man's companion whoo-man. Jacqui Floyd-Priskorn has innocent fun with this satirically sinful story that is certain to please anyone with a religious sense of humor. If you didn't know before how Adam got the apple - now you do. A total blessing of a short!

  • Paul Donnelly: Adam's Angels

In this clever riff on Genesis, we see possibilities beyond Adam and Eve and a very different explanation of how the apple came into Eve's possession. We also experience the first man, the first woman, the first sexism and a groaningly dysfunctional celestial bureaucracy. There is a great deal of wit and trenchant observation packed into this short satire.

  • Greg Mandryk: Adam's Angels

An adorable, little piece about the Garden of Eden... with some delightful liberties taken. Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn has written another satirical gem.

  • Michael Goodwin Hilton: Adam's Angels

A delightful spoof on some of the most dated tropes from Genesis which also satirizes the excesses and inefficiencies of corporate bureaucracies. Beneath the levity, though, is a thoughtful and searing critique of how chauvinism is internalized and reproduced across ephochs and institutions. It's a piece to be seriously contemplated and deeply enjoyed!

  • Alice Josephs: Adam's Angels

In the beginning —- God has a mission to delegate to his Angels with this diverse, corporate ladder version of the Genesis story. Priskorn turns the angelic host into a range of identifiable company personalities incorporating a contemporary take on Satan. Inoffensive yet sharp and witty, appealing to any grown up audience, actors will also relish this exhilarating riff on the Garden of Eden with its clearly defined characters, cultural comment and laugh out loud moments.

  • Morey Norkin: Adam's Angels

This is an absolute joy to read and no doubt the same would be can be said for seeing it on the stage. What a funny retelling of the story of creation and how it didn’t go exactly according to plan. I’m still laughing over the “Holy 5-second rule.”

  • Christopher Plumridge: Adam's Angels

This is a wonderful retelling of this first story of man, I can't help wondering what life would be like now if the angel Lucy had succeeded in her role. All the characters are interesting and well written in this quirky piece, I'd love to see a youth group perform this!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Adam's Angels

A brilliant twist on the creation story and the relationship between Adam and Eve. You can't help but giggle throughout and some lines just had me in stitches. I loved the format, the idea, the characters and the means in which its narrated. What can I say, its a gem of a play!
