Wow, this horror-slash-Zoom drama packs an emotional punch, considering the topics. You wouldn’t expect this from a short play about extermination techniques of vampires and/or zombies, but Gatton quite effectively pulls at your heart strings. Really great work.

Vince Gatton creates a horrifying situation with only one horrifying solution. A unexpected twist takes us from a play we think we know to a heartbreaking place.

A fun 10 minute play by Vince Gatton, PROTOCOLS is a well-written, nervously funny play which exists as a story between two brothers. Vampires? Zombies? What I love is this strange world is securely set in a family situation, bathing the audience in universal fear. I was enough in the dark to be unnerved all the way through! Produce this!

This piece takes a brilliant twist on what you can actually do with a performance on Zoom. Its a brilliantly clever back and forth that keeps the audience guessing right the way through. I also love that it comes with a tender moment towards the end. A lovely piece.

Audiences will be drawn to this 10-minute play because its world of vampires and zombies taking over speaks to our pop culture favorites. The world is going to hell! Survivors must band together! There's devastation everywhere!

But this is a Vince Gatton-penned play, and "Protocols" is much more subtle and humane. Shon and Ari deal with questions that only siblings caring for their parents must ask. There is so much uncertainty that caretakers face, and Gatton's script captures it so honestly -- including Ari's reluctance to tell Shon the main reason behind the phone call.

I love a play that takes you to places you never expect, and PROTOCOLS delivers! The tension between the 2 siblings is so natural and fun, and then the real story unfolds and it's a beauty! Great pacing, believable characters and unique plot make this 10 minute play worthy of a berth in any short play festival!

Even the most horrific situations need to be dealt with in a calm, organized matter or else it all goes to hell. Vince Gatton shows us this in a terrific 10 minutes that lets us in on one family that tries to deal with the direct effects of an unusual crisis and the varying degrees of success. Not at all what you think it is at first, we delve pretty quickly into Twilight Zone territory and boy, is it fun. Would love to see this on stage or Zoomed.

This is a really clever and absorbing play both about our current pandemical situation and not about it at all. I enjoyed the tension between the siblings; totally relatable. And the emotional arc is pitch perfect.

A Zoom play that has nothing to do with our current pandemic, "Protocols" is creative, engaging, funny, and poignant all at once. I enjoyed every moment!

I had the pleasure of directing this play for our college's online Fall Play Festival. Vince Gatton's dramatic conflict combines both the familiar and a sci-fi angle in a high-stakes, entertaining interaction between siblings. In performance, we also found the play delivers an emotional wallop as the siblings come to terms with an unsettling reality at the play's conclusion.
