  • Evan Baughfman: Polar Opposites

A hilarious short play about personified penguins! Audiences will have a lot of fun with this piece, especially its midpoint "twist"! The tuxedo costumes are a great touch!

Heartwarming, bone-tickling, penguinesque! - POLAR OPPOSITES in just a few pages covers a lot of monogamous territory that rings so true for more than one species. I love how the tuxedo strategy would allow the audience to visualize Man and Woman as penguins until they become penguins. Also love so many of the marital jokes (anchovies and all). Priskorn’s profound little play would be a must-see at any festival.

Lights up and smile! Not since I was a child appearing in a 5-minute adaptation of Mr. Popper’s Penguins have I come across such a delightful penguin play! The visual aspect, the clever dialogue, and the relatability of the characters make this a festival standout. Jacquie Floyd-Priskorn does it again!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Polar Opposites

This is so much fun, I laughed out loud while reading it! This play would be a hoot to stage, man and woman dressed identically with an over sized egg. The confusion runs throughout, which makes you wonder how magnificent nature is that real penguins recognize each other.....or do they? Brilliant!

  • Robert Mattson: Polar Opposites

A wonderful short play about the nature of relationships....or relationships in nature? Actually both! Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn has a gift for quick and funny dialog in a script that makes you envision the costumes and sets beautifully. This is the type of play that wins audience choice awards at festivals and competitions!

Hilarious short play about penguins and the issues of parenting and insightful thoughts at each twist that she writes.

  • John Mabey: Polar Opposites

Penguin life has never been this enjoyable on stage. In POLAR OPPOSITES, we meet a comedic dysfunctional duo with an even funnier surprise ending. Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn takes what we know about these adorable birds and heightens to perfection while commenting on parenthood, marriage, and the dynamics of egg-life.

Who can resist a play about penguins? Not I. But Floyd-Priskorn's short comedy is about more than penguins, as it also, cleverly, spotlights issues of parenting and relationships. Great fun for all ages.

  • Andrew Martineau: Polar Opposites

From the extremely clever title to the confusion that ensues for these penguin couples, this is what I would call a smart comedy. It is very funny, and it is also insightful and fascinating, considering humans don’t really act like penguins. However, in comparison, we can see parallels due to the skillful writing, and it is comedy gold!

JACQUELYN FLOYD-PRISKORN never, ever disappoints. Her plays are well-written, witty, and have a point to be made. It would be a shame to give away the twists and turns of this short play. I so want to do so, but you need to read this play. “Polar Opposites” had me smiling and laughing, nodding my head with each ‘so true’ reveal, and looking forward to seeing this play on stage. A truly wonderful play!
