An intelligent short play that examines what it means to be human. I was put in mind of Douglas Adams' Deep Thought super computer which when asked to compute the meaning of life came up with the answer of 42 such is the absurdity of trying to get AI to analyse and replicate the multitude of factors that make up the glorious messiness of our existence. This thought provoking play reinforces that illogical humanity wins out.

Jack Levin’s “The Beauty of a Rose” is a thoughtful sci-fi piece that questions the essence of humanity. It’s the kind of play you think about long after reading it.

I really enjoyed this play. Very philosophical in nature. It wrestles with big ideas, not the least of which is the survival of the human race. My mind was engaged the whole time. Fantastic writing and story-telling!
