This is a unique and uniquely rendered love story. Zach's longing is as tangible as the object of his longing is intangible. I was carried along by the intensity of his feelings and the power and unpredictability of the unseen object of his obsession.

There are so many ways to interpret this love story. Is it a story of someone in love with someone/something else that can only bring pain, no matter how much they try to heal with love? Or is this a magical love story where love transcends even corporeal bodies? "A fish may love a bird, but where would they live?" And again, this love story leads back to pain. But isn't that what the price of all love is, in the end? No one has love without pain, but the little sparks in between? That's what matters.

The fantastical/mythical elements of this play don't take away from the deeply felt longing and loneliness that often accompanies someone attempting to connect with an old flame. The connection, when it finally occurs, is intense! Beautifully written!

Fantastically unique, surprising and theatrical short play about longing and love, with a single character who speaks to someone we can't see (or can't quite see--there IS lightning). Loved it!

DC CATHRO’s “Into Me (A Love Story)” is truly unique and most entertaining. Love is one of the most emotional and deeply felt senses we experience. This short play takes the reader/audience on a journey unlike what one might expect in a love story.

This love story may be somewhat unorthodox (most welcomely so), but it is no doubt love, in every sense of the word. And if you’ll pardon my cringe, I LOVE (in every meaning of the word) Cathro’s short play. With a construction to cause your actor and lighting designer to fight over who’s more excited to tackle the material, this play is lyrical, evocative, contagious, and deeply felt. Fantastic work.

This is Cathro working in a more lyrical vein than usual, but as usual he delivers: touching, haunting, sensuous, electric… this paean to love may be a fantasy, but it is also emotionally wrenching and deeply satisfying in a very real way. And it’s a marvelous opportunity for inventive staging and performance. Just… wonderful in every sense of the word.

INTO ME (A LOVE STORY) is a fantastical love story (as the title suggests), full of passion and longing. This is my first foray into DC Cathro's work, and I look forward to many more. Beautiful, and immaculately well done!

This is a touching -- in more ways than one -- love story. And while Zach and his true love may never be together in the usual sense -- talk about your long-distance relationship -- the connection they have is powerful and enlightening.
