Awww I love this! And in the best way the author totally had me fooled, what seemed like to be one of those 'one way unrequited love' scenarios turned into something quite unexpected and beautiful! So heart warming!

The conundrum of being in love with your best friend is one that has been shown in many different forms but the way Jacquelyn has done it is the sweetest. I love both characters (despite Dean's short comings) and all I want to do now is see the events of them going through school together and the unrequited love that eventually leads to the beautiful moment that is creates in this piece. Any audience who goes to see it won't be able to help going "Aw!"

It's always so much fun with the Play of the day is by a writer I know and admire1 Birthday Beer is such a great love story and the perfect first play to read in the new year of 2022. I always admire Floyd's sense of humor and well timed laughs, but it's her way of drawing you into the story so fast and making you care about her characters that will make me keep coming back to her work year after year!

When you start with a soaking-wet business suit, it's easy to assume that nothing that follows is predictable. Even so, I was not prepared for the sweet and inevitable surprise ending. "Birthday Beer" is a funny, laugh-out-loud play that takes the audience on a delightful and unexpected journey. I would love to see this on a stage.

This romantic comedy goes from goofy laughs and quips, to something incredibly charming and lovely. So much fun!

TOO CUTE. This short play is so sweet and fun and ends just the way I wanted it to. I love all the little touches that make these characters so real and so relatable. Jacquie Floyd-Priskorn has managed to give us an entire, fleshed out romantic comedy in only ten minutes. I love it.

A sweet and funny play! I was hooked at the very first line and rooting hard for this couple by the end. Well done.

I love a good rom com, and Jacquie’s Birthday Beer doesn’t disappoint. A wonderful set up, physical comedy, hilarious perspectives of Dean and Carla about the once-droopy stripper knocking on the door, and a touching ending. Turn around raccoon eyes and read this script. Highly recommended!

Another typically great Jacquie Floyd-Priskorn comedy with so much heart. On top of the will-they-won't-they premise, Jacquie use her deft comic touch and eye for prop humor to craft a satisfying short: images like a beer bottle with a lit candle burning down as the oblivious Dean strips out of his soaking suit is priceless and would give any company plenty of fun. Sweet, quippy, and full of heart; what else would you expect?

JACQUELYN FLOYD PRISKORN’s “Birthday Beer” is absolutely wonderful! It’s funny, romantic, and the perfect story of a change in attitude of a twenty-eight year old on his birthday. This play is a must-see on stage. I just loved the way the dialogue flowed, the seamless transition of Dean from playboy to responsible adult, and Carla at first feeling betrayed and then being pleasantly surprised. A real fun play to read!
