In a world where people are quick to judge those who don't have children without thinking what the situation might be, Jacquelyn has created a heart warming and heart breaking snap shot of one couples relationship. As the audience, you see so much of what is going on in this couples life and I believe, if put on stage this would resonate with a lot of people. My experiences of Jacquelyn's plays is that she writes great pieces about relationships, and this is just another example!

Being a Dog and Cat dad, this play pleases me so much. I love the intimacy of the couple and their struggle to get past one set-back on the possibility of having children as if that might help their relationship, but in this quiet scene, we learn that there is a stronger bond than the dog or the possibility of children, there is their bond that they re-discover is as strong as the first night they fell in love and talked about future plans which probably included, dogs, children, a house , dreams and world all their own.

Floyd-Priskorn shows us the power of subtextual writing in BRONTE'S MOM and delivers a fast-paced, short play with well-formed characters, believable dialogue, and a story line that rings true. Produce this!

  • Christine Foster: Bronte's Mom

A touching look at a couple grieving their childlessness while talking about their dog. The dialogue is spare, clean and true, covering a lot more ground than it seems to do on the surface and leading to a tender and hopeful resolution.

Awwww. This play really just distills the human condition. We all just want to love and be loved. And it takes a dog, the living embodiment of unconditional love and chewing stuff up, to teach a childless couple growing apart, to take a look and remember what it is about each other they love. That, and the remnants of a running shoe.
