I really enjoyed Charles Scott Jones' short play All Hallows Eve. What I found most interesting was Jones' ability to constantly surprise you as you follow the delightfully eerie story . The 3 characters are unique, fun and fascinating. And the spooky element that pervades the piece is very engaging. A good one. --Take a look!

  • Enid Cokinos: ALL HALLOWS EVE

What happens when a novelist puts her mastery of the macabre to work in order to spend time with Luis, the oh-so-hot fireman living in the apartment downstairs? We get ALL HALLOWS EVE! Tricia’s motives appear innocent on the surface, until Evelyn, a plucky lady of a certain age, *appears*, adding a nice bit of humor as she sets the record straight. Twists and turns abound in this short play by Charles Scott Jones. This one is perfect for Halloween/ghost themed festivals.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: ALL HALLOWS EVE

What a clever short! I thoroughly enjoyed this piece, especially getting to hear both Evelyn and Tricia's versions of what happened the night before, shifting my allegiance and making things darker. What a wonderful idea for a play, and how much fun this would be to see. A perfect reveal and a delightfully silly ending!

  • Adam Richter: ALL HALLOWS EVE

Ghosts exist to remind us of regrets we have in life. Charles Scott Jones takes this conceit to tell a larger story about the connections we have with the people in our lives, and the tragic results when those ties fray. "All Hallows Eve" is a funny and moving play that will have you thinking about it long after the curtain goes down.

  • Caitlin Strom-Martin: ALL HALLOWS EVE

There are so many layers to this play--it's amusing, sad, somber, spooky, and extremely clever. I love the lyrical dialogue and the way one of the characters deals with their fate. Its a very thoughtful, articulate and smart play that really grows on you with further exploration.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: ALL HALLOWS EVE

A little spooky, a little silly, just like good neighbors, living and dead.
It's hard to tell who is telling the truth in this kitchen table dark comedy. But it really doesn't matter, because both stories are engaging. Even if the horror writer gets "Boo"ed in the end.

There's always the story told and then there's the truth. All Hallow's Eve plays on this with it's tragic set-up,
and ghost story and it will make you wonder the next time you get those goosebumps just exactly what ghosts from your past are haunting you!

Not your typical Halloween tale! I enjoyed this piece and the relationship shared between three neighbors. The narrative has a mid-point twist that elevates the play into something pretty spooky!

I really loved how Charles Scott Jones was able to successfully blend so many different genres together. Great comedy, horror, and some excellent twists and turns. Highly recommended for Halloween or for any time of the year!

  • Christopher Plumridge: ALL HALLOWS EVE

All Hallows Eve is a fun short, sassy, ghost story which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I love the whole premise and the interaction between the 3 characters, alive or not, plus the spectacle of the deceased, dressed in the typical white sheet circling the two remaining living souls is hilarious. There's a line about about cake predicted in the future which made me laugh out loud!!
