Clara, a tree-topping angel with an attitude, was mercilessly dumped in a Crock-Pot box 15 years ago, but she’s back to reclaim her rightful perch atop the family Christmas tree. Recently-divorced Elise, however, wants to abandon the Yuletide celebration altogether. Can Clara convince Elise that holiday traditions are still worth the effort before the abandoned angel ends up on a thrift store shelf?

What a wonderful piece for the season! Loved the characters - they would be fun to play for any actor, and loved the premise! A great and inventive way to show a true spirit of Christmas. The lighting of the angel is sure to be an applause moment in any production. Well done!

I had the great honour of producing it as an audio play for Theatrical Shenanigans. Its easy to have a Christmas play where everything is entirely jolly and cheerful but Enid offers a fabulous alternative. Elise has lost her Christmas spirit and doesn't want to celebrate, a grim start to a festive piece but we as an audience then get the joy of being introduced to one of the most wonderfully festive and fabulous characters, Clara the Christmas Tree Angel, who brings Christmas spirit in droves!

Cokinos’s endearing play is everything a good holiday play should be: hilarious and heartwarming, inspiring but never sappy. The humor is found in both the pointed dialogue and the clever visuals. The underlying idea that preserving traditions can save us from losing ourselves is a perfect message any time of the year. This 10-minute charmer should be in every holiday short festival.
