Plenty of laughs and even more heart. Holiday traditions from the past tend to lose their appeal when you’re all alone. But if you’re lucky enough to have a funny, insightful angel tree topper like Clara, you may begin to see things in a new light. And that’s even before she’s plugged in. As Clara aptly states, "Delish!" A lovely short play about reclaiming Christmas as your own after a painful breakup. Playwright Enid Cokonos hits all the right notes in this holiday-themed play about moving forward and creating new memories. It's no surprise it's gotten productions - a fantastic addition to any theatre festival!

Poor lonely, abandoned, and hurt Elise is not feeling the holiday spirit. It takes Clara, a long abandoned Christmas-tree topper, to help her see the light. Elise is sympathetic and Clara is a comedic gem. This is a sometimes wistful, sometimes witty celebration of Christmas traditions and personal redemption.

Christmas traditions can have baggage. They also hold memory - ready or not, here they come. Cokinos gives us both. Laughs? Yes. Sadness? Of course. Family, holiday, a tree topper, and change are all tangled like your Christmas lights after a year in storage. Untangling can be therapeutic. Wistful and sweet,

I had the pleasure of seeing this play at the Westfield Playhouse in 2022. This is one of those plays I'd wish I'd thought of. It has big laughs and a big heart. It's sentimental without being cloying. I love how it anthropomorphizes the tree-topper and looks at things from her perspective. A wonderful addition to any Holiday show.

I say, what makes a Christmas play/film is that you have to have a moment of that 'warm fuzzy' feeling. This play has that in bucket loads! This is the first play I've read by this writer but its just wonderful! The two characters are wonderful along with the dialogue. The thing I love most is that at the centre of it all is a wonderful message of "no matter what else is going on in your life there is that one thing that keeps you remembering the good times!". A truly magical Christmas play!

Two wonderful characters who will give actors so much to play with, this little gem is perfect for a night of short Christmas plays.

What a sweet and touching short play! The jokes hit just right, and it was a touching look at the passing of time, aging, and the joy of the Christmas spirit. It's a fun concept to personify the angel, and it was a touching look at family. Bravo!

There's something so special and endearing about this play. Enid Cokinos skillfully writes with heart and so much comedy in CLARA THE CHRISTMAS TREE ANGEL. The dialogue will have you in stitches and the story itself will leave you incredibly satisfied. Both characters are incredibly relatable and distinct, and the playwright crafts a story in 10-minutes that is so full and complete. As the play closes, I'm left with both nostalgia for holidays past as well as excitement for the next - with newfound appreciation for ornaments.
