Recommendations of Two Yards of Satan

  • CK Brestman: Two Yards of Satan

The hottest show this season is Two Yards of Satan. This show has everything: cloven feet, Catholic terrorists, pork rinds, that guy from Fight Club, naked Hot Jesus, and quick-change mariachi demons. Catch this one before someone calls 911.

Right from the word go I was drawn in and guffawed with laughter all the way.
I could see this all playing out in my head. I would imagine the audience laughing out loud from start to finish.
The characters are so well-drawn and so funny.
The ending is superb when Pam accidentally summons God.
    "Daddy's home ..."
    haha
    Really enjoyed it. Bravo.

  • Tom Moran: Two Yards of Satan

A wonderful bit of absurdity that keeps topping itself. Laced throughout with funny twists and some truly great one-liners ("Look, ma'am, it's your word against Satan's"), it's a joy to read. Also plays itself out nicely with a stellar last few moments.

Correct spelling is important, kids — although without it we get brilliant comedic gems like this outstanding play by Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos. The comedy in this short piece builds at a great tempo from bizarre miscommunication to full-on absurdity, featuring the devil, a cop and a Jesus who's WAY too much into saving our hero, Pam.
Clever writing and great physicality make this a perfect play for a night of shorts. Bravo!

This short play is so much fun! It just builds and builds into calculated insanity, and the ending is perfect. It's smart, hilarious, would be a joy to act in, and clearly seems to have been a blast to write.

This play starts out very funny and then quickly moves to hysterical. The pace never lets up, and the insanity threatens to spiral out of control but it just keeps going. "Hot Jesus" practically killed me. Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos is one of the few playwrights I know who consistently makes me laugh out loud. This play is another one to add to the list of her killer, sure-fire comedies.

This is, hands down, the funniest thing I've read today! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! The plot, the dialogue, the escalation, the Devil himself! This play had it all. I could go on and on, but I don't have to. This play should be produced immediately. If not sooner.

KELLY MCBURNETTE-ANDRONICOS’ short play is a laugh out loud, fun piece, which will be a hit with audiences. “Two Yards of Satan” turns an inadvertent misspelling into a tussle between Satan, Jesus, and Cop to ‘get it right’ despite Pam’s insistence she doesn’t want or need their help.

The wordplay! The twists and turns! Hilarious stuff, all of it. I'd love to experience this one with a live audience!

I read this piece as part of a weekly play reading group called the WineBox Players. When I say I was DYING as this was being read I'm almost speaking literally. SO freaking funny. And shout out to anyone who writes a character named Hot Jesus. (And shout out to Nick Bombacino who portrayed him... well... beautifully.)
