I find this play so immensely relatable as another alien being, not just a lesbian but truly alien, yes, I get it. And it's really a super play that will creep people out in a festival, in the best ways, because aliens. And lesbians. And it is so other-worldly! The sounds. The lighting possibilities. The characters moment to moment... Super work!

The setting of a parked car at night is marvelous, and I relate strongly to this piece because I’ve known more than one person who thought they were aliens and there was something ennobling about them being from another planet. MIXED SIGNALS is a warm and heartfelt moment in the lives of Aurelia and Katherine and their connection is very important.

A richly realized short piece that looks at queerness through a metaphorical lens. Strong characterizations with a hint of mystery at the center make for an affecting and atmospheric read.

This is a charming and insightful portrait of the feeling of otherness that I think most of us experience in one way or another. Katherine's specific real or imagined otherness presents a challenge to Aurelia who has found some level of acceptance for her queer life, but who must come to terms with the degree to which Katherine's confession is not just a metaphor. A thoroughly engaging work.

This is a lovely short, atmospheric play, I could clearly imagine the two sat in their car staring at the moon, something I've done myself a few times. As an occasional director I can see this two hander performed in several ways, some deep and some light, but at its heart this play is simply beautiful!

This short play about feeling like you don't quite fit in is beautiful. So much of Katherine and Aurelia's relationship - and Katherine's identity - are revealed in only five pages. I love the exploration of what it means to feel weird and different in so many different senses. This is a play that would definitely stay with you in a night of shorts.

There's a lovely extended metaphor about "otherness" in relationships here. It's beautiful because it can stand in for so many backgrounds. But metaphors don't work unless they serve a real-life purpose in the play and this one works like gangbusters.

I recommend reading it at least twice. It's the difference between wondering what's going on and who knows what to being literally on the same page as the characters. BTW, it works either way. It's resonant, romantic, and fun.

I know these two are gonna make it! No matter where they are or where they're from!

A gorgeous exploration on what happens when two people in love prepare to enter the orbit of... the parents. Will they be accepted? Appreciate? Loved, for who they are? Kantor dips and weaves a filament of emotion in this tight little play, stitching together want, need, hope, joy — And sorrow — that there should be any doubt. A lovely example of how a play can say so much, with so few words. Poetry.

Fascinating short play about love and differences that might be really, really big differences. I love how real these two women feel, and the specifics of their dialogue give us so much about them in just a few pages, yet keep us wondering, wonderfully. Well done.

This five minute two hander had me emotionally involved from the top. The pain of Katherine not being out to her family is palpable. In contrast, Aurelia has a mother who flies a rainbow flag. Even at five pages, you want so much to have them connect and be able to move on. A lovely piece.
