Crescent Moon Circus

by Ky Weeks

[ten minute] The Crescent apartment building has been abandoned for a long time, but sometimes a light is seen from within. Deep in its supposedly empty rooms, forgotten spirits have gathered, desperate to perform their act once again. As luck would have it, an audience has just arrived. But is that all they are?

This dark fantasy is beautiful and haunting. A mix of urban decay and supernatural circus, the play would be a designers dream. Add to that the brilliant potential for choreography! This show is something special!

I want to direct this play, I want to be in this play, I want to design this play!

What a gorgeous magical little snippet of a world that isn't ours. In the vein of the "The Night Circus", Weeks takes the wonder of a circus with actual magic and how it can lead to self discovery and liberation, all within the framework of an old haunted hotel and a horrific dare to investigate it, where the main character may not return. Weeks knows how to create character, story, and magic, all tied up with a delicious sense of fear.

This play is creepy, weird, and intriguing. As someone else said, it would be really interesting to see how it goes from page to stage.
