This dark fantasy is beautiful and haunting. A mix of urban decay and supernatural circus, the play would be a designers dream. Add to that the brilliant potential for choreography! This show is something special!

I want to direct this play, I want to be in this play, I want to design this play!

What a gorgeous magical little snippet of a world that isn't ours. In the vein of the "The Night Circus", Weeks takes the wonder of a circus with actual magic and how it can lead to self discovery and liberation, all within the framework of an old haunted hotel and a horrific dare to investigate it, where the main character may not return. Weeks knows how to create character, story, and magic, all tied up with a delicious sense of fear.

This play is creepy, weird, and intriguing. As someone else said, it would be really interesting to see how it goes from page to stage.

Creepy with a sense of urgency that squeezes the breath out of you. Weeks gives us what seems to be a nightmare for Mins, but this nightmare ends with a welcoming tug at your heart which makes you smile to think what you witnessed was a coming home for our character and nothing as troublesome as we first believed.

This play has an incredible sense of atmosphere--a little bit creepy, a little bit funny, and incredibly captivating. The rules of this world are so specific and ingenious, and would be a joy for a director to stage and for an audience to witness.

    Oh, this is glorious...

Weeks sets up a darkly atmospheric and visually stunning world. The stage images (a lone individual in a window, shadowy creatures, an elegant concierge in an abandoned room) elegantly waltz with the rules of the universe (when and how entities can be seen and heard) creating a narrative of belonging as beautiful as it is unsettling.

Plays like this are the reason special skills on acting resumes are so important. Movement and mine builds to the titular "circus." Any festival design team would salivate to tackle these challenges.

    Audiences will delight at this...
