This play is a really smart commentary on the world of beauty pageants that also has a lot to say about the immigrant experience. I was very moved by the tender moments between Cristina and her father as they both try and keep their lives together after the passing of Cristina's mother. I love how wild this play with the Spanish-speaking horse and the magical pageant coach with dubious intentions. There are some bold stage directions here and I really hope theatre company's will produce this piece and put some real resources behind it.
