OK, this is delightful. Funny, meta, all those things, yes...but is it odd that I also found myself weirdly moved? If drama lies in characters making choices with high stakes, there's a courageous big swing someone takes at one point in these few short pages, and it's thrilling and kind of beautiful. And whether you find yourself feeling oddly "Awwwww...." about it like me or not, I'm pretty sure you'll find Special Extra Treatment a charmer.

This peppy comedy introduces a fun turn of events, and I am intrigued to imagine where its plot twist might lead these characters as they continue to invent themselves on the fly.

I absolutely ADORE this play! As someone who always wonders about the poor extras who get trampled in the background of other stories, this feels like an anthem to them! To the story-less, the dialogue-less, the human furniture! Everyone deserves a story! So meta. So delightfully satisfying!

Poor extras never get much to say, that's the point of them, obviously. They are just there to make up the scenery, the ambience. So when this couple of extras find themselves center stage they naturally make the most of it. The clever part of this play is what happens next, no spoilers, read this for yourself and stage it. Love it!
