If the distraction of "Top Gear" during a global emergency doesn't sum up humanity, I don't know what does. This wonderful piece from Chris Plumridge shows that art really can save the day and society, if we let it.

Ohmygod! Hysterical! It doesn't miss a beat. Scary fun and funny as heck! (Also a metaphor for the frantic throes of writing a script to schedule.)

Wildly funny and inventive short play that would be a blast to perform. Audiences of all ages will love this!

Fast-paced, horrific, funny and silly. There's more than enough comedy in "Playwrights Versus Zombies!" to please an audience, including some sensational physical humor, and horror that will cause goosebumps. Plumridge also throws a few barbs at writers and agents in this brisk horror-comedy, which I thought was a nice touch.

  • John Medlin: Playwrights Versus Zombies!

Horror comedies are one of my favorite genres. "Playwrights Verses Zombies!" is an excellent example of why they can be so fun. The frantic tempo drives the audience into an apocalyptic world where the living dead roam hangrily about searching for brains... or wine. The comic bits are well set up. I'm sure it would be a joy to act in this one.

Two worst case scenarios: trying to untangle a complicated plot in their script, and trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. And these writers take us on a roller coaster ride of fun! What a terrific, silly, dark, and fast paced romp of a horror story. Your audience will love it!

I just had the pleasure of acting in a Zoom version of this and we had so much fun; it was almost impossible to keep it together while trying not to explode into laughter. This is one fun play, at least for audio alone. I can only imagine the actual staging. Exceptionally well done!

  • Charles Scott Jones: Playwrights Versus Zombies!

Just the thing for Halloween - zombies, playwrights, hilarity - Chris Plumridge-style. I laughed so hard at this clever spoof - brilliant use of repetition with variation - a superb use of dialogue and activity - so visual - but would be even better to see performed because of the slapstick comedy the actor playing Mr./Mrs. Harris Zombie would bring to the role. Never realized the power we playwrights have until I read PLAYWRIGHTS VERSUS ZOMBIES!

We had the great fun of reading this play at our Sunday night play reading Halloween Special and it was wonderfully hilarious! It started with a smile and before long you are laughing out loud. By the end I was crying I was laughing so hard! Its a wonderfully chaotic back and forth between the immensley frustrated writer absorbed in his own world (which I can relate to) and the friend trying to remind him of the serious threats in the real world. Its a brilliant premise and was performed fabulously! Now it just needs a live performance!
