I've said it MANY times, Chris has a gift with creating wonderful characters in unique situations and bringing them to life in a short space of time. The tale of The Last Supper is a familiar story to quite a few people but in this monologue Chris has brought in a wonderfully new perspective, how crazy it is to organise a gathering like that! Loaded with laugh out loud moments, this would make a brilliantly unique monologue to perform for an audition or variety show!

I love this monologue. Jesus is booking a table at a restaurant for the Last Supper - well, two tables. (Leonardo needs a table for one, so he can paint them all.) So much fun, and so many smart jokes! This is the rare piece that would work equally well on a stage, over Zoom, or on the radio/podcast. This Jesus is a triple threat. Love it.

Clever! Loved the premise and the references - so many fun gems! I especially enjoyed the line about getting the beards right. Would be an amusing piece to see staged, and surely much talked about afterward!

Brilliant. Chris Plumridge is one of my favorite writers and might be my favorite monologue writer if there is such a thing. This show doesn't disappoint with its little digs at the disciples as Jesus tries to book a dinner without name dropping. He's put everyone there at the same time including Da Vinci. It's fantastic. A fun read that doesn't disappoint.

I don’t know how Plumridge has managed a Last Supper monologue for Jesus without it being sacrilegious but it’s here: funny, maybe truer to the truth than we imagine and touched with specifics about diet, Da Vinci and Judas that makes it all so accessible to our times.

A right jolly Jesus we have here! Nice to see him keeping his spirits up as he makes One Last Reservation. I’ve never paid any attention to what was in the table before and I had to look and take notice which was fun. But the buoyant humor of the piece and Christ’s jaunty sense of humor while facing the inevitable makes this a joy. DaVinci gets his due as well with some good-natured ribbing. And the piece’s parting shot is potent and sweet like the end of a good meal should be.

The concept of Jesus having to make reservations for one last get-together with his twelve best friends--plus Leonardo to document it--is inspired. And hilarious. One pities the restaurant manager having to accommodate all of his very specific requirements, particularly a table long enough so they can all sit on the same side. And separate checks, of course. Love it.

    Wow!

I can recommend this monologue without reservations. But Jesus can't get a table for thirteen without them. His detailed requirements for booking a table and feeding his picky disciples are hilarious. Thirteen may be unlucky for Him, but it's a gift for us.

The biggest compliment I can give this play is that I'm so friggin' envious I didn't think of it first. Damn you Plumridge and your hilarious monologue. This would be an actors dream monologue. The biggest name on the planet and you'd have the stage all to yourself to say these wonderful lines. I'd pay thirty pieces of silver to see this play staged.
