Floyd-Priskorn takes you on a magical ride to a shopping district in The Darkness and back again. Wacky and wonderful. "Say more words" Jacquie, say more words!!! I'd love to meet these two fantastical creatures again because we all need someone to "bring out the shoe salesman part" of ourselves from time to time. Brava!

A really charming, imaginative and funny short play in which an unhappy human learns a life lesson from a half-human, half-demon shop-owner and a wood troll. Moving, uplifting, and fun!

Who hasn't found themselves in the Darkness from time to time? A human condition, unfortunately that isn't always easy to get out of. But luckily for us, we've got Jacquie Floyd-Priskorn as a guide here to shed some twisted and funny light on the situation. Despite the heavy burden Olivia is carrying into the shop with her, she gets some much needed perspective (and a throw pillow, so, win-win) from Flurk and Ramiform, two goofy denizens of this weird shopping district. Jacquie puts enough love and humor into the play to make this a worthwhile shopping excursion.

Every now and then, we all find ourselves in The Darkness - and those who have seen the deepest depths will relate to the protagonist in this charming, moving fantasy play. Despite the "dark" setting, you won't find a more colorful and charming cast of quirky, hilarious characters. I have never found kinship with a character as quickly as Flurk! There is a lot of very good advice hidden in this monstrous metaphor that many people need to hear (myself included) - I really think this is a powerful piece that could transform mindsets and save lives. A theatrical treat!

Unexpected. Warm. Delightful. This short play gives us a look at an underrepresented corner of deep, dark emotions. What starts as a routine day in a shop of uncommon items for even more uncommon shoppers becomes a refuge for a lost soul. This show is a treat and would be wonderful on stage.

I love stories that are allegorical without being preachy, life-lessons that aren't all caught up in Moral Clarity, and get to the honest and harsh truth without making you wish you had a cup of hemlock tea at your elbow. Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn's tale of Olivia visiting the tourist gift shop in The Darkness is exactly that, and the depiction of Flurk and Ramiform are not so off the mark for folks we know that calling this a fantasy may not be quite accurate. After all, there are just so many realities we can live with.

Today I’m thankful for this funny, thoughtful play from Jacquie Floyd-Priskorn. Jacquie is skilled at combining outrageous humor with deep empathy for the troubles that afflict mere mortals, taking readers and audiences on a journey of laughter and discovery. I was pleased to learn there really is a Bucksnort, Tennessee. And Ramiform is easily my favorite wood troll!

Sometimes total strangers show a greater depth of humanity, caring, and understanding for a person than the person feels for herself. In the case of "Live, Laugh, Lobotomize," those total strangers are a half-human, half-demon shop owner and a wood troll ... so, you know, fun.

I love this play's generous spirit, which shines through the humor and The Darkness.
