Recommendations of Goat Blood

  • Morgan Hemgrove: Goat Blood

The intersection between Queerness and Horror is wonderfully shown in Goat Blood, the terror of having to reach out and trail your hand further not knowing if it will be yanked away. This play is hopeful, heart-wrenching, and horrific, I would love nothing more than to see it live!

  • Shaun Leisher: Goat Blood

Capturing true horror on stage is not an easy feat. It's been something I've been seeking for awhile now and I think this play does a great job in the scare department. The use of tone and vivid stage directions makes for a spooky read. I really admired how this play also finds room to talk about social issues like racism and homophobia. This is what great horror should be and I really hope a theatre gets courageous and produces this play.

  • Duncan Pflaster: Goat Blood

A play that is both a legit spooky horror story as well as having important themes of pride in one's cultural heritage. A thrill ride with bursts of comedy and sensuality.

  • Vince Gatton: Goat Blood

Complicated, sexy, and terrifying, Goat Blood takes its audience down dark paths, constantly shifting what you're afraid of (or who), who you're afraid for, and why. The present-day scenes and flashbacks feed each other cunningly, and the pacing remains tight throughout; meanwhile the various tensions - life-or-death, sure, but also cultural and sexual - will keep you leaning in all the way to end. An unsettling winner.
