A laugh-out-loud and surprisingly intimate screwball comedy that somehow has room for both larger than life comedic characters and ample humanity. What I love most is the specificity of the dialogue, which tells you absolutely everything you need to know about the lovable cast of ridiculous characters who come to see the "thing" in Jackson and Laila's home. The lovely reversal is structured beautifully, offering audiences that genuine "surprising but inevitable" feeling that leads to gasps!

This play really is crazy! So much happens but the comedy of it with the timing and double casting makes it feel like an SNL skit! Reading it made me laugh, I can only imagine how watching it would be! Hilarious! It was also refreshing to see someone who is successful in so many different aspects of their life publishing plays in their spare time. This was a really wacky, keep-you-on-your-toes kind of story!

Part of the appeal of this script is the hilarious use of character doubling. Deb Hiett is a comedic genius with so many small pieces of the play holding specific details that warrant a chuckle when you realize them. The title serves its purpose because this play is crazy. It also holds a heart-warming relationship that prevails through all the twists and turns.

Goodness! A play with all the Subject Matter Keywords presented in the most hilarious possible way! Fun and fast and delicious. The dialogue is quick and natural in spite of the surreal setting. I loved the story line - Deb Hiett creates a slice of non reality that smacks of truth and the glory of the quantum world. Terrific stuff!

Deb Hiett is the rarest of things--a contemporary playwright who writes comedies that are actually funny. I loved this play from the first page and was surprised and invigorated until the end. THIS IS CRAZY is also crazy theatrical in the best way. Produce this and all of Deb's brilliantly funny plays!

I laughed sooooo hard at the reading of THIS IS CRAZY. Only Deb Hiett can write such delicious absurdity with such humanity. It is a deeply funny and deeply satisfying play, resonant with love and hope.

WoW! This delight of a play will truly inspire actors, directors and set designers. The dialogue is terrifically funny, some stage directions are as well: "Fucking Johnny Carson'! And it's absurd 'Crazy' leads gently into existential questions and philosophies that are deeply universal and everyday. The 2 utility actors play supporting characters who are robust, necessary and at times comically point up their own double casting connections. And damn, the ending makes you feel great inside and have hope, and the audience will feel happy that they bought their tickets. Again-- WoW!
