A charming two hander sure to delight audiences. At a crossroads (literally) two colorful characters are perhaps a bit lost but not in the grand scheme of things; they’re together, where they should be looking up and outward. Nice.

This short play is absolutely charming because of its setting, its characters. I get a feel of "Waiting for Godot" and Looney Tunes. Also, I love the mindset -- we may not be where we expect, but that doesn't mean it isn't glorious.

Elephant and Old Clown are two of the most endearing characters I have come across in a long time. I loved this tender, funny and insightful piece about two circus performers and longtime friends who wind up at the "wrong" Hollywood and Vine.
Is it really the wrong one? Produce the play and find out!

I read "Miracle on Hollywood and Vine" once, and then just had to read it again to make sure I hadn't missed anything in this deceptively simple, yet so richly layered short play about two friends marooned in the middle of nowhere. The fact that they have landed at a different 'Hollywood and Vine' from the one they intended is just another opportunity. An opportunity to meditate on the nature of stars, their place in the universe, and the true meaning of friendship. Lovely!

If you haven't yet read Matthew Weaver's plays you're in for a treat. Weaver is a writer who can create two characters, an elephant and an "old clown," and make them and their friendship utterly charming and believable. This delightful ten-minute play deftly combines sly humor and gentle absurdism with wonderfully warm humanity and a unique and imaginative story. I would love to see this performed. Would also love to see more of Elephant and Old Clown!

Aww! This is such a wonderful story that truly brings out the magic in these two friends! and YES! Young actors would do amazingly well playing these characters! Wonderful job Matthew!

Beautifully zen, giving “Waiting for Godot” but moderately more hopeful and happier (a huge feat in its own right), I absolutely love this. Weaver’s banter is on point, nimbly bouncing between comedic and thoughtful, often both. This is a friendship that actors and audiences alike will delight in and devour, and I could personally watch them for forever. Heavenly.

Leave it to the imagination of Matthew Weaver to take a title and turn it into a buddy comedy with shades of Beckett. Old Clown and Elephant are as real and relatable as your fantasy can make them, and with all the humanity and pachyderm-ity that's needed -- and more -- to make this short piece as funny and as touching as possible. I've learned to never underestimate Weaver's abilities, and this reaches for the stars.

It takes tremendous skill to write something that is simultaneously this spare and this downright kind. Somehow, even with the minimal, punchy, fast-moving dialogue, this play achieves some massive laughs. This is truly an actor's script, with opportunities for comedic timing to shine through—but the real charm is in the heartwarming final image. Plus, I just love the idea of a youth actor dressed as an "old clown," no matter the creative interpretation! You will love this intimate heart warmer!

I love Matthew Weaver's writing. It is the literary equivalent of a cozy sweater. I could listen to these two friends at the wrong intersection banter (and one-sided bicker) forever. Magical!
