  • Matthew Weaver: What Hath the Wraith's Wreath Wrought?

Make no mistake - a not-insignificant part of this play's charm is how exasperated its author appears to be over its very existence. But Daniel's too hard on himself - all of his authorial/ theatrical talents are out in full force, and we his fans are delighted and unsurprised by what he can do with a fun Secret Santa title exchange. If there were ever an insane asylum on SESAME STREET, this play is surely an escapee, and may it never be apprehended. A perfect addition to the Prillaman legacy.

When Willa Wrathburn wanders witlessly into Worth’s wraithy workplace, we witness a witty and weird war betwixt a woman and a wreath with a wonderful, welcome wrap-up.

Yeah, I can't possibly keep that up. But you should know this hilariously, atmospheric, VERY FUNNY play challenges expectations beat by beat. It’s a deliciously self-aware silly short with so many phenomenal, memorable bits throughout! Charming, consistently surprising, and stupid... in the BEST WAY POSSIBLE! Waffletwat!

  • Philip Middleton Williams: What Hath the Wraith's Wreath Wrought?

Having lived a life with a prominent W in my world, this little gem of a Christmas horror story is fun and -- in the best possible way -- wonderfully stupid. The set-up and the execution hark back to the best of the cheesy dark mansion presentations, and the characters are right out of a Vincent Price classic tale, but in true Prillaman style, wonderfully wacky.

I enjoyed every last moment of this campy horror-comedy. So clever ("urban wolves" was my favorite) and impressive (Willa's monologue she delivers while cursed!!). And the best part is, the play takes place on Christmas Eve and involves a wreath, so this could be in a night of holiday plays, where it would come sailing out of left field to surprise and delight the entire audience. The mind of Daniel Prillaman is bonkers in the best way.

Well well (welly-well) well! I’m not sure many playwrights could have sustained or conceived of this premise as well as Daniel Prillaman, but we’re all wonderfully well off because he has. A cheekily festive short wrapped up with a bow.

What a wickedly witty web Prillaman weaves! This is a delightful mashup of horror and comedy, with the occasional meta touch. It is funny and engaging. I really was curious about the curse throughout and amused by both its nature and resolution.

OMG!! This play is insane! I loved the story and how it got so crazy at the end! This play would be so fun for actors to work with! Bravo Daniel!

Oh, this is so much fun! Prillaman's ten-minute play about an unusual family curse is a wonderfully witty (note the Ws there?) mashup of holiday and horror, with two super-fun roles for women. I would love to see this on stage!

YES! I saw the content warning. But I was not prepared for the W's that were waiting! This is dark and silly. Not a combo we get enough of and I absolutely adore it!

Alliteration aside, all accolades for this awesome artistry! Author always accommodates all areas of aforementioned awesomeness. Again and again, aligning an academic approach to actor’s annunciations. Allons y!
